Medicare advantage insurance is a type of Medicare. It provides you with all part A and part B benefits. If you have Medicare advantage insurance, Medicare services are covered through the plan and aren’t paid for under Original Medicare.
Most Medicare advantage plans do not have annual deductibles. Medicare Advantage policy holders usually pay a fixed amount every time they see a doctor as opposed to meeting a deductible.
Medicare advantage insurance plans offer a benefit "package" that is at least equal to Medicare's and that covers everything everything Medicare covers. However, the benefits do not have to be covered in the same way.
Medicare advantage insurance generally offer much larger benefit packages than Medicare. Plans often include dental, hearing, podiatry, chiropractic, acupuncture, and vision coverage. Some even offer health club memberships and services such as transportantion to and from clinic appointments.
